This garlic butter steak fried rice is a savory and satisfying dish loaded with tender steak, aromatic garlic, and buttery rice. It's a quick and easy meal, perfect for busy weeknights or when you crave a comforting dish packed with flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
  • 8 oz steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank), diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tbsp butter and olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add diced steak, season with salt and pepper, and sear for 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add garlic and cook until fragrant. Push to the side and pour in the beaten eggs, scrambling them.
  • Add another tbsp of butter, then stir in rice, breaking up any clumps.
  • Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  • Add peas and carrots, cooking for another 2 minutes.
  • Return the steak to the pan, stir well, and cook for another minute.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use cold, day-old rice for the best texture.
  • Adjust soy sauce to taste for saltiness.
  • Swap steak for chicken or shrimp if desired.
