Ground Beef and Broccoli stir-fry is a quick and easy meal combining lean ground beef, fresh broccoli, and a savory sauce made with soy sauce, hoisin, and oyster sauce. A healthy and flavorful dish that’s ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Main Ingredients:
    • 1 lb ground beef
    • 4 cups broccoli florets
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
    • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Sauce Ingredients:
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
    • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
    • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
    • 1 tsp sesame oil
    • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional)
    • 1 tbsp water (for slurry, optional)
  • Optional Garnishes:
    • Sesame seeds
    • Green onions, thinly sliced
    • Red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tbsp of oil. Sauté the onions, garlic, and ginger for 2-3 minutes, until fragrant.
  • Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry (if using).
  • Return the beef to the skillet, pour in the sauce, and stir to combine. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the beef and broccoli.
  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds, green onions, and red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

  • For a lower-carb version, substitute hoisin sauce with a sugar-free alternative and serve with cauliflower rice.
  • Feel free to swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Adjust the consistency of the sauce by adding more or less cornstarch and water for your desired thickness.
