Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel to drain. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces and set aside. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet.
  • Sear the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. Add the olive oil to the skillet with the bacon grease and heat over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Creamy Sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Combine and Finish: Return the chicken breasts and crumbled bacon to the skillet. Spoon the creamy sauce over the chicken and let it simmer for 3-5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve the creamy bacon chicken with your choice of side dishes like mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • Thickness: If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it out by adding a little more chicken broth or cream.
  • Substitutions: You can use boneless, skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier option.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
