Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (or breasts, drumsticks)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels, then rub olive oil over each piece. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken.
  • Place the chicken pieces skin side up on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the chicken.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven and brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over each piece.
  • Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the sauce is caramelized.
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can use boneless chicken for a quicker bake time; adjust cooking time accordingly.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in BBQ sauce for 1-2 hours before baking.
  • Broil for 2-3 minutes at the end for a crispy, caramelized finish.
