For the Beef Filling:

  • 1 1/2 lbs thinly sliced beef (ribeye or flank steak)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

For the Casserole:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 1 cup mushrooms, thinly sliced and sautéed
  • Sliced hoagie rolls or bread cubes (toasted)
  • 8 oz cooked penne or ziti pasta

Instructions

  • Sauté the Beef Filling: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the thinly sliced beef until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Add onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Cook until softened. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, heavy cream (or milk), eggs, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes until smooth.
  • Assemble the Casserole: Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread the beef and vegetable mixture in the bottom of a greased baking dish. Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly on top. Sprinkle with shredded provolone (or mozzarella) and Parmesan.
  • Bake: Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and bubbly. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
