This Pumpkin Mousse recipe is a perfect fall dessert, combining rich pumpkin puree, heavy cream, and warm spices like pumpkin pie spice. It’s sweetened with both granulated and brown sugar, adding a caramel depth. The vanilla extract enhances the overall flavor, while a pinch of salt balances the sweetness. Gelatin is optional but helps in maintaining the mousse’s structure. Garnish with whipped cream, cinnamon, or graham crackers for a festive touch.

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whip the chilled heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  • If using gelatin, dissolve it in a small amount of water and let it cool slightly before adding it to the pumpkin mixture.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the pumpkin mixture until well combined and smooth.
  • Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Garnish with whipped cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, or crushed graham crackers as desired.

Notes

  • For a lighter mousse, you can skip the gelatin.
  • Make sure the heavy cream is well-chilled to achieve the perfect whipped texture.
