  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup black beans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup guacamole
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add diced onions, bell peppers, and taco seasoning to the beef. Cook for 5 minutes until the vegetables are soft and seasoning is well mixed.
  • Spread a layer of tortilla chips on a large baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle half the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the chips.
  • Evenly spread the cooked ground beef mixture over the chips.
  • Add the remaining cheese on top.
